Karine is a documentary photographer who came to visual expression after a 15 year carreer in criminal law as a Defense attorney in Paris. She left her job in 2018 when she relocated in Southeast Asia, switching medium but still telling stories that matter.
Working on long term documentaries is a way to plead again, not with words but with pictures, focusing on people who can’t necessarily find their place in our society, and bringing them justice. She is particularly interested in those whose voices are not heard, and build a visual identity around the Defense values that drive her.
She graduated in 2022 from an European Master degree in creative documentary and Photojournalism with Magnum Agency & Paris Photographic Institute (Spéos), and obtained the first price of the jury in Photoreportage.
In 2024, as a photographer, she joined the team of the Contrôleur général des lieux de privation de liberté (CGLPL), whose role is to ensure that people deprived of their liberty are treated with humanity and respect for the inherent dignity of the human person.
